Little forced break in print making.
Well, today I was going to finally print my pictures that I took over the last week and my enlarger bulb burnt out! I had purchased 2 new ones a while ago and thought I was all prepared but they were the wrong bulb! Got an order into freestyle photo so no new prints will be posted until next week. I have gotten a photo shot every day. Some I am happy with and some not as much but I feel like I am getting more consistent. I hope to have my blog all updated by the middle of next week!

Today I went down to the river to teach Jane how to drive a stick shift. After driving in 1st gear around and around the park we walked down to the waters edge. Took a lot of pictures of the frozen river while Jane slid around on the ice at the bank. I liked this one of the train bridge over the river. This time I used the Minolta srT201. Nice camera but the mirror gets stuck on occasion. I suppose I'm going to have to replace seals and give it a good cleaning.

A fairy ornament that I forgot to put away this fall. The snow on the print is very sparkly. I liked how the shadows were falling. Same film/paper/camera as most of the others! I'll let you know when I use something different! Looking forward to tomorrow. I am off and have several ideas for new shots.

OK. I guess I took a picture. It was not successful but at least it was a learning experience. I went up on the rims before work and took several pictures. Lesson learned. The camera does not see what I see, I really can't hold a camera with a shutter speed at 30 and a 135mm lens steady :), my tripod is my friend! I will have to do this again someday when I have more time and go to a better spot!

Mary after work. I shot a whole roll of Fomapan 400 of her. I'm not sure if this is the best but I like it. I'll have to spend a day printing up some of these extra shots I have. I think that there may be some better ones on there. This is fun but I came close to not getting my shot today. The first roll I shot was clear. I had to re shoot. For some reason I did not change my shutter speed!! It was at 500! Well, it's 7 for 7! So far so good.

We got a bit of snow last night. Mary and I were wandering around taking pics and I got this one of Ed and Jane in front of the house. It was taken with an old Zeiss Ikon Box-Tengor. I barely had to enlarge it to print on 5x7. Got to love those MF negatives! Film Arista Edu iso 100. Paper arista Edu. Camera was set at 8-2 feet (choices are: infinity to 8 feet, 8 - 2 feet or 2 - 1 feet)with aperture set at 22 (it only has 3 choices: 22, 16, or 11). Fun camera to shoot.

Today I decided to step outside my comfort zone. I walked around town with my camera taking pictures! I didn't come up with anything too amazing but the fact that I got out was a big step for me. I think that I will try this again after work tomorrow! This fire hydrant was taken around noon on my Sears TLS (this is my favorite camera!)with a 50mm lens, fomapan iso 100 film, Arista Edu MG paper with a 3 contast filter.

Today was one of those days. Everything was either underexposed, overexposed or the light just wasn't right. This is a shot I took of Jane with available light this evening. The actual print is even a bit darker. It was taken with Sears TLS, 135mm lens. Film, Arista Edu, iso 100. Paper Arista Edu. Contrast grade 2. I guess this is a learning experience! Hopefully I improve over this year!!!

This is a shot of my Great Grandmothers doll, "Bertha". She got it for her 5th birthday present. Her Great Grandmother made the clothes. I shot this on my Sears TLS with a 50mm lens. Film: Fomapan iso 100, paper Arista Edu MG (a bit fogged as the box was left open!). Contrast filter 2. It was shot on the shelf in my darkroom with the little florescent desk lamp for light.
