January 10, 2010

OK. I guess I took a picture. It was not successful but at least it was a learning experience. I went up on the rims before work and took several pictures. Lesson learned. The camera does not see what I see, I really can't hold a camera with a shutter speed at 30 and a 135mm lens steady :), my tripod is my friend! I will have to do this again someday when I have more time and go to a better spot!

  1. Hi, Lori:

In 'Darkroom' (Lustrum Press, 1977), Jerry Burchard has a fascinating article on long exposure night time photography, and often didn't use a tripod. He'd end up with motion blur effects, but with exposures long enough to turn night into day, he got interesting grey tonalities that could not be captured normally. Not 'straight' photography, but certainly creative!
